General Fund Raising
Gulf Coast Sound Drum and Bugle Corps is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation,
registered in the state of Texas under our parent organization, Gulf Coast Drum
Corps Associates, Inc. Donations can be deducted from your taxes.

Field Corps Dues - $600.00

This is the main focus of the performing element of the corps. The intent
it to go to and compete in the DCA World Championships. If you are part
of this element of the corps you do not pay the parade corps dues.
**The Administrative Staff is not paid 1 penny for all the hard work they do. In fact, most of them give hundreds of dollars a year in donations. The Caption Heads (Instructional Staff) are paid a modest amount, just enough to cover gas to and from rehearsals. The bulk of the budget is transportation costs to move the Corps across the country for major competitions.
**We realize that this is a lot of money. All GCS members are provided with multiple methods of raising the funds.
This money goes towards
· Your housing costs (this includes finals week at DCA's)
· Transportation Costs (3 out-of-state bus trips)
· Equipment Costs
· Instructional Staff
· Operating Expenses

· GCS Member Shirt (you get to keep it)
· GCS Member Star (you get to keep it)
This money does NOT go towards
· Black "bibber" uniform pants
· Black socks
· Black patent leather Dinkle marching shoes
· Gloves
· Tan Khaki Shorts (for parades)
· Tan Khaki GCS baseball cap (for parades - optional)
