Winter Camp #2

Winter Camp #2 started with unexpected surprise. Several Bayou City Blues alumni (that haven't been in GCS to date) joined us for the morning session. It was very nice to see so many old faces and to have the chance to catch up. Several "legends" were finally introduced to the new members of GCS.

After a long day of rehearsal the hornline can boast being able to play half of the 2006 show. The Battery has Tarkus very much in hand and is working on the opener. During the full ensemble rehearsal the emotions ran VERY high as the Battery and Hornline were able to really experience the emotion of the chart. Performing Tarkus is going to be seriously intense.

At the next Camp (Jan 28-29) the Hornline will recieve music for the ballad, Unchained Melody. This arrangement promises to be a trademark of GCS for years to come. Brass Arranger Roel Flores has done an exceptional job putting it together for us.
