The program opens with the pulse of a human heartbeat and the entire program will be built around this recurring rhythm. The music begins with a dark, brooding feel that quickly explodes into hard rock. The tempo is fast, the music is loud, and the intensity and passion will draw you in and send your heart racing!
As the fury of the opener dies down you will once again feel the heartbeat pulse as the music segues into the lush melodies and harmonies of the Kansas chart "Dust in the Wind."
As the Dust settles your pulse will quicken once again as the drumline transitions the show into "The Point of No Return." Listen close for a surprise fanfare to introduce the piece. This time the whole Corps will cut loose and have a good ol' time. You'll really be able to tap your toe as the music is again fast, loud, and FUN! Just the way Drum Corps should be!
The Corps will change the mood yet again featuring the Hornline in what is sure to be a GCS Classic: "My Immortal". This modern era rock-ballad is lush, melodic, and down-right GORGEOUS as the Corps gently slows down your pulse only to send it racing again with an intensely emotional climax.
The Percussion Section will be heavily featured in our version of this classic 70's rock-anthem by Kansas. The finale promises to be thundering and intense while building around the heartbeat that has permeated the 2005 production: "Pulse"
