Recruiting Booth - Galena Park ISD Marching Band Contest

Postby Andy Jurick » Mon Sep 13, 2010 1:01 pm

We will again have a recruiting booth at the Galena Park Marching Band Contest on October 2, 2010. We will need 4-5 people to man the booth throughout the day. I'd like to have ALL AGE GROUPS represented...remember, we can't attract younger members if we look like some "Old guy" organization that plays Sousa marches!

I'll have more details and a map to the stadium posted ASAP. Please put this on your calendars

REMEMBER - RECRUITING IS EVERYONE'S JOB!

Below is a link to a google map for Galena Park ISD Stadium. It is on Wallisville Rd Between Uvalde and Beltway 8 in East Houston.

I will be out there right after 8:00 am on October 2 to set up. I think the first band is on around 9:00 and the last band around 5:00. Anyone who can put some time in to help man the booth and talk about GCS is more than welcome.

Remember, I would like to have ALL age groups represented at this booth. Please try to make some time to be there!

Okay. I'm feeling really old posting this...I'm going home for my 20th class reunion, so I won't be there. I'm sorry, but I committed to doing committee work way before this was on our calendar. However, whatever I can do to help make it run smoothly, let me know.

Just a reminder that the Galina Park contest recruiting event is THIS SATURDAY. See the map link posted earlier for directions.

Please dress in your best GCS gear and come help sell the corps and fill up those open spots!

I will be there chaperoning the Tomball band - not sure how much walkaround time I'll have, but I'll stop by the booth when I can.

Thanks to Andy for setting this up. Lots of work in getting the space, printing fliers and cards, and setting up and breaking down our booth. We got a lot of looks and a good number of contacts to pursue, including some adults.

Thanks to Mark, Jenny, and Sean, Scott, and Michele for also helping at the booth.

Go, Sam Rayburn HS!

Please make a point to help at The Woodlands show on Oct. 16.
