Brass Tech Simon Coffman (GCS Contra 2005) was awesome. For those that missed the rehearsal, you missed a fun night.

The Mini-Corps charts were reviewed and cleaned in preparation for the Katy HS gig in 2 weeks. We also touched on the 2010 Opener which seemed to get good reviews. I saw lots of smiles.

All-in-all I'm quite pleased with how 2010 began.

PLEASE come join us for Thursday nights. The calendar will be updated today with the fall/winter/spring schedule.

Jason,

You forgot that we hit the first note AT 7:00...Kris, you missed it, man! ;)

Real good rehearsal last night guys! And thanks to DNgo for bringing out some of his kids! They looked like they were having a great time.

Yes, indeed. We started at 7 PM sharp.

And that's how it will be from now on.

Now, we need to find a Guard Instructor and some percussionists and we'll have ourselves a Corps.

I may have found us 3-5 guard and a tenor player. They can't come on Thursday nights because they have class, but I'm taking them to open house. They are very excited about it! :)

Sorry I couldnt make it. I missed a day and a half of work this week due to some pretty severe back pain. I could barely walk so I didnt figure that holding up a euph would do me much good. Still in some pain but hopefully will be better and will make it next week. I did have a pretty productive conversation on Friday afternoon with a contact that may be able to get us a float or a trailer for the Mardi Gras parades in New Orleans. One of my contacts at work that does a lot of stuff for us in the state of Louisiana is a member of one of the Krewes over there and has a lot of contacts involved in the planning of all of the parades. I explained to him who we are and what we wanted to do and he is going to make some phone calls next week for me to see what he can find out. We may be able to get a lead on renting a float or possibly even having the use of one donated to us for the parades.

Mark,

Get well soon. Sounds kinda funky with only half a euph riff in Hazy.

Yeah, we missed you big guy. Hope the back gets better. Tell Jenny she needs to be more gentle. =)

Keep me posted on the float thing.
