Fall Semester Offerings at LSC-NH

Postby Corey Mark » Sat Sep 10, 2011 10:37 am

For those who wish to participate in the various ensembles that Lone Star College-North Harris has to offer, the jazz band and symphonic band will be starting rehearsals this week in addition to the drum corps brass and percussion ensemble. All three programs will be directed by Dr. Brack May, Director of Bands at LSC-NH and Director of Music for GCS.

Jazz Band meets Monday nights, 7pm until 10pm in the Fine Arts Building

Symphonic Band meets Tuesday nights, 7pm until 10pm in the Fine Arts Building

The drum corps brass and percussion class meets Thursday nights, 7pm until 10pm in the Fine Arts Building

Several GCS members are also participants in the jazz and symphonic bands which are fun and a good way to improve performance skills. All three bands are continuing education programs and open to the public for enrollment.

If you can spare the time, the symphonic wind orchestra and jazz band are a LOT of fun to play with. My skill level has increased quite a bit since Michele and I joined LSC 18 months ago.

There are many videos on the website: http://LoneStar.GulfCoastSound.org

And if anyone is still undecided on where to stop before practice, you might want to click this link and check the lower left corner. :D

GCS vets, see if you could bring your black gloves handed out last year at the BSA gig. This will cut down on the number of new sets we will need to hand out for regular use.
