Meadows Place July 4th Parade

Postby Corey Mark » Thu Jun 02, 2011 11:21 am

We're going to participate again in the City of Meadows Place parade. It has been moved to a 10am step-off time to beat the heat, so it should be even more fun than ever. We'll also do what we can to ensure your comfort for this event that benefits the corps.

All GCS members, alumni, and friends are welcome to join in. Stay tuned for more info as it develops.

ROLL CALL!

Who out there is going to attend the parade either as a marcher or who can help with support duties like handing out water? Also, do you have a GCS Member shirt or should one be ordered for you to wear?

I'll be there - Sierra can probably march as well. If we need bodies to pad the numbers I can even make Sam come along.

I have whatever shirt we decide to go with - Sierra has one also. Sam would need one if he marches.

I'm happy to hear that you're doing better. Hope to see you soon.

More details....

Meet at the usual staging area off Highway 59 (http://maps.google.com/maps?q=29.649277 ... num=1&z=18) at 9am. Parade step off is at 10 am.

We will be playing Magnificent Seven. Music is posted in the Members Section of this forum. If you do not have access, please let me know and I'll send it to you.

We'll be wearing GCS Member shirts and khaki shorts. Let me know if you need a shirt. Hats, sunglasses, and any other ways to stay cool and protected (within reason) will be allowed.

ALL ARE WELCOME TO PARTICIPATE!!!!!!
We especially need a drumset drummer and more horns. We'll find something to do for all others.

By "GCS Member" shirt, Corey means the white shirt with black letters that has the SMALL GCS star on the front and the word MEMBER on the back. This is not the shirt with the colored GCS logo on the front. Just wanted to clarify, as there has been confusion in the past.

Thank you, Allen. I'd never forgive myself if something were to happen to you on the parade route. This year is especially dangerous because of the heat.

You were never not active as far as we're concerned. We'll keep in touch.

Mission accomplished! Everyone made it home, safe. Well, except for that vintage Ford pickup that bled to death.

Thanks to Lee for his trial by fire.

Great to see our drumline back! Can't thank you enough, Stephen.

To all the usual suspects, including Josh and Lauren, Teresa and Gabriel, there are no words......

Thanks to everyone for enduring the heat. Amazing how that little bitty parade can be so hard. But thanks to Dr. May and Lauren for keeping everyone hydrated during the parade. Welcome to the outside performance venues Lee. It was good to see you there. and as always, thanks to the "talent". Always fun playing with the family. See you Saturday.
