Thank You

Postby Tom Huntley » Sun Mar 06, 2011 8:52 am

To all who participated the past 2 weekends. Lst nights parade was an absolute blast. IPT did a great job playing to the crowd, the horn line sounded as good as it ever has at Mardi Gras and the parades went by pretty quick. Everyone did a wonderful job. I didn't get home in time to see it on TV but I hope someone recorded it and will share.

Anyway, thank you again and we will see you at rehearsal next saturday at RBC.

Same here. Thanks to all, especially IPT for turning this into a rocking fun parade. I don't know why we haven't done this parade in the past, but it will definitely be in the future. Also good to see Barb, Oscar, PioJon and James in the mix. I can't help but think how we could bring it on this year if we keep everybody for the field show!

As a correction, the next scheduled camp is Saturday, March 19 at RBC. Details to follow.

I haven't had this much fun at a Mardi Gras parade in the 12 years I've been doing them (16 years if you include high school).

THANK YOU GCS & IPT!!!!!

Slightly off topic, (though I have one flip video on my facebook if your interested. I'll put one or two more up later). Someone gave me their sun glasses to hang on to at the parade and I don't remember who it was now. I think it may be PioJon....could have been Joshua....I don't remember. Anyway, who's are they and how do I get them back to you!?!?!?

Thanks for having me. Glad I could get the car going again to do the parade. Even if the pesky rabbit chewed through my fix less than 24 hours after parking it back at home. The replacement is a little more armored this time. Hopefully I'll get around to editing some of the content I recorded while over there this week.

PITB, but it runs pretty good when the wires are fully connected. And I have some spares stashed away now.

Glad you could make it down James - I think I have a permanent solution for you though:

RABBIT STEW
Printed from COOKS.COM
1 (2 1/2 to 3 lb.) rabbit, cut up
6 peeled, sm. white onions
1 1/2 c. diced celery
4 1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
2 qts. boiling water
2 c. diced carrots
2 c. diced potatoes
1/2 c. flour
3/4 c. cold water
1 tbsp. chopped parsley
Wash and dry cleaned rabbit. Place in kettle with next 6 ingredients. Cover; simmer 2 hours or until rabbit is tender. Add potatoes; blend flour and water. Stir into stew. Cook until thickened and add parsley.

I'm working up a video of the snippets of footage I shot of Mardi Gras. Probably < 7 minutes when done. 1+ minutes of which is ocean + another 1+ minutes of line dancing. Per usual I do things the hard / long way so perhaps posted by Saturday.

Catching this rabbit shouldn't be an issue. He doesn't start running until I yell at him. I just have to have the old man tool ready when I pop the hood. And the old army boots a foot. Not a memory I want, but for $1,250 (replacement part), I'll cope. I doubt I'll eat him though, copper content too high.

Check out the video section of the forum. I started a thread with what I posted to youtube this evening from last Saturday. Hopefully it's not too hideous. Camcorder audio and all.
