Assembly Point for March 5 Parade

Postby Corey Mark » Wed Mar 02, 2011 11:23 am

We will be meeting at the NASA Value Center parking lot at 2pm on Saturday to carpool to Galveston Island. This is the easiest way to avoid the crowded Strand area for the parade.

Take I45 south to the NASA Parkway exit. The shopping center is at the southwest corner of the I45/NASA Pkwy intersection. Meet at the parking area behind the Hooter's restaurant. There are several other restaurants there if you wish to eat after the parade.

As reminders, WEAR ALL BLACK. This is a televised parade, so we need to put our best out to the public for this.

Is all black generic anything? Jeans? Shorts? Shoes AND socks? Short sleeve / long sleeve shirt? Hat? Ninja outfit? Bath robe? I'll probably need a 2XL shirt if available (maybe a 3XL).

BTW, what instrument do I play again? Or will be this coming weekend, lord willing and the creek don't rise?

Still part hunting, but it's currently rigged (sort of). I guess I should dust off the old soldering iron just in case.

I'm assuming by all black Corey means black jeans or slacks, black socks, black shoes...you'll get a black GCS shirt on-site if you don't have one. I would not think shorts, since we'd see your white legs!

Don't count on that. We're VERY low on shirts.

I suggest bringing your own plain black t-shirt.

Probably. I'm still working on the car per say. That part comes from the dealer as the entire engine electrical harness for $1,250. Which isn't going to happen IMO. And apparently I'm driving the safest car in the world as no salvage yards have any. Or they are selling the entire engine (with harness), so that's not gonna happen (by tomorrow anyway). So it looks like I'm off to Radio Shack to manufacture the part in question aka DIY. It's been a really screwy week this week. A stroll along the seawall sounds really nice right about now.
