Winter Fundraisers!

Postby Corey Mark » Thu Dec 16, 2010 8:39 am

GCS will be partnering with Imperial Percussion to jointly participate in our largest fundraisers this winter.

IPT will be selling fireworks during New Year's time. On December 29th, 30th, and 31st from 3PM until closing (~11PM to midnight), they will be at the Top Dog Fireworks Warehouse at 20432 Northwest Freeway, Houston, TX 77065 which is on the 290 frontage road between Eldridge and 1960. Sales of the fireworks is indoors and is easy (essentially just handing them out to customers). We need as many volunteers to attend as possible to help any time during this fundraiser. Even if it is just a few hours on either day it would be helpful. Contact me and I'll formulate a schedule.

GCS will again be attending Mardi Gras in New Orleans. On the weekend of March 4 - 6 we will be marching parades in Metarie and downtown New Orleans. IPT will be sending a contingent of drummers to help us out. We've also booked the Galveston parade on February 26.

Please clear your schedules to help. The success of these fundraisers will greatly impact the ability of these two organizations to operate in 2011.

More details to follow.

I will be there most of Wednesday, the 29th and at least 4 hours on the 30th and 31st, so Tom and/or I will be there the whole time.

Bring your spouses, relatives, GFs, BFs, and other SOs. How about you teachers? Students? Those taking mandatory year-end PTO (or involuntary permanent PTO like me)? LC?

We've got to make a good showing to be successful.

32 views and nobody but Corey and I are on the schedule? Instead of WHO is going to do it, WHEN are you going to do it? This is your Corps. What are YOU going to do to support it?

Sorry, on my first trip back to the website, I had no reply button to post with. I'll commit to 4 hours a day starting at 3pm. Time after that is questionable, but will try to stay as late as possible.

Thanks, Mark. Yes, it was easier than CSC, huh?

I'll be there from ~3pm to 7pm today to see how many Top Dogs get sold.
