Brass on the Bayou I&E Competition

Postby Corey Mark » Mon Oct 25, 2010 9:16 am

GCS is pleased to announce that its Brass on the Bayou I&E Competition will be held on Saturday, November 13, at the Lone Star College-North Harris campus. An informational flyer and rules can be found at http://www.gulfcoastsound.org/ie2010.html.

This unique competition will have performance divisions for Juniors (middle school students), Seniors (high school students), and Adults (college students and adults). Judging in performance excellence will be held for brass, percussion, color guard, and woodwinds categories.

This is a great venue for anyone preparing performances for school-related activities, recitals, auditions, or those who just love to perform, but do not have any other opportunities to do so. An appearance by the GCS FlashCorps will also be included.

I love this idea, as this could be a prep OR warm up for those that want to do DCA I&E.

We're doing this twice per year. There will be a "Spring Edition"

Do you have to pre-register to compete? Or can you register to compete at the door?

You must pre-register by Wed, Nov 10.

The website will reflect that later today.
