Feb 20 Camp Update

Postby Jason Rose » Wed Feb 17, 2010 8:35 am

First, let me take a moment to thank all of the people that made the journey to New Orleans and then willingly subjected themselves to the arduous task of marching 15-16 miles in 3 days to raise the money that GCS needs to be successful.

EVERY TIME GCS takes the field this season it will be because these few made the sacrifices necessary for that to happen. Please tell them that you appreciate them.

Because everyone that went to NOLA is still recovering AND because we're having multiple scheduling conflicts with the brass staff, we're having a short rehearsal this weekend. The objective is to keep the brass section on schedule with learning the show music as well as keeping what we've already learned fresh. In addition the GCS percussion people and the Color Guard need the time to work on basics as we continue to gear up for the first Drill Camp late next month.

When:
Saturday

Where:
RBC

Time:
2:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Objectives (Brass)
Learn "Flirtin With Disaster"
Review "What Is Hip" & "Johnny's Mambo"

Objectives (Percussion)
Basics

Objectives (Guard)
TBA

After the rehearsal I HIGHLY encourage everyone to join Tom, Chel, and I as we head over to watch IPT play at a TCGC show. IPT needs to know that we're supporting them. So, come with us and cheer like maniacs!

IPT Gig:
Cy-Lakes High School
9:15 PM

You're free to wear whatever you'd like. But, something that promotes the Corps would be very appropriate.

I wouldn't recommend the GCS speedo and/or thong unless you want to be talked about for the rest of the century.....
