Let's Talk About the "Next Issue"

Postby Jason Rose » Wed Feb 10, 2010 9:02 am

Now that we're nearly done with our major fundraising efforts, my attention is starting to shift to the next critical issue.

MEMBERSHIP!

Our High Brass section is in dire need right now. Everything is ok, but could always be better.

Critical Needs
4-5 Sopranos
3-4 Mellophones

Not-so-Critical Needs
2 Baritones/Euphoniums
OR
1 Bari/Euph and 1 Contrabass
4-8 More Color Guard

Our 2 Drum Majors are now set. Although we haven't announced that yet.

The Battery is pretty much set as well, although they won't be joining us until mid-April. We could always use more and we might also need a few more Front Ensemble folks

PLEASE start kicking over rocks and looking behind bushes. We need YOUR help to find these members. They're out there. We just need to find them. And, I'm betting you may already know them. Use FaceBook and MySpace. THEY WORK!

I want to publicly thanks Marilyn and Steve for constantly going above and beyond to recruit. Others have helped as well. But Steve and Marilyn have really been busting their butts over the past year or so. Please thank them and PLEASE follow in their footsteps. We need some help on this issue.

About the only thing keeping me from confirming yes is I don't know when 2010 championships are and how it compares to my summer marching band/football game schedule, as I have work obligations with our band office, so I'm not sure what I need to ask for from our directors.

The caraVAN will leave RBC Wed night and arrive home Tues morning.
