Part 5 of what got recorded of WGM from the TCGC event.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6bV4RRTJRRU

I added a few mics to my arsenal.

Audio Technica ATM75 - headworn vocal mic, if you like the sportcaster look.
Audio Technica AT3035 - LDC with more low end reach than my STO-2's. (I'll finally be able to record / hear that contra voice)

They were too cheap to pass on, and I needed to verify the lack of low end reach on the STO-2's. I still like the sound of the STO-2's over the others. Very forgiving mics and mostly idiot proof.

I just recorded WGM this past Saturday(3/13) at a TCGC event. The new preamps really make a noticeable difference in the realm of audio. Lower noise floor and you can almost hear the bass line now. I still need better mics (MKH 8020's?), but the Avenson STO-2's (made in Austin) have sentimental value. Same with the spider brace 2 (made in Austin).

I have better equipment (or will eventually) if you'd like to make use of it.

Mics:

Avenson STO-2 (x2 stereo pair)
Audio i5

Preamps:

Sound Devices MM-1 (x2)
Korg MR-1000

ADC for audio:

M-Audio Mobile Pre
M-Audio Delta 44
Korg MR-1000 (DSD audio)

Video / Stills:

Sanyo FH1 (1080p60 or 8MP stills)
Kodak Z1085-IS (720p30 or 10MP stills)

Still kind of weak in the video department (no lighting / consumer grade camcorder). But I've been accessorizing for better gear. Tripod, minipod, tablepod, monopod, spider brace, hoodman LCD shade, ......... must... have... more... gadgets.......

Barb and I put this together a few years ago. I updated it yesterday for a grant the Board is working on.

Someday in the near future I'd like to re-record this with better equipment. Is anyone (with a good speaking voice) interested in doing the narration? Barb is in exile somewhere in the mid-west now and not available to help. And, there's no way I can do it!
